New Year, same me…but better

The new year can be so confusing. We're bombarded with mixed messages… 'set new years goals!'… ‘the new year is just another day (which it is) it’s useless to set goals'… ‘you don’t need to become a new you' (also true)… so which do you follow?

If you're like me, then the new year brings a lot of reflection- what did I do last year? accomplish? feel? what do I want to do next? I saw this quote on IG and I think it beautifully encapsulates how I'm feeling stepping into 2023.

“New Year, same me, but I’m going to love her better than ever.”

In one of my NYC Health Club meetings last year, I had the pleasure of bringing in my dear friend Daisy Dolan to share with the group. During our meeting, Daisy raised the most juicy, loving, and savage question in regards to the new goals + routines we were working on. She said, “Are you doing this to honor yourself or are you doing this to fix yourself?”

I encourage you to apply this question to your everyday life. The little choices you make each day. This question can apply to almost anything. THIS is the question I'm asking myself in the new year. How can I honor myself in the new year? Maybe you want to keep up your goals and habits from last year, and maybe you want to create new ones. At the end of the day, this is YOUR life, and no one else's. Let your actions, intentions, decisions, and words come from this place of honoring yourself, this year and always. What are you doing to honor yourself?
